Losing a baby changes everything. The weight of that grief is real, and it doesn't go away when the medical bills stop coming or when the world around you moves on. You were never meant to carry this alone.
After Devan & Lexie lost Baby Joie in August 2018, their church offered to cover grief counseling sessions for them if they wanted it. Lexie was hesitant, but Devan encouraged them to go together. They had never been through something like this before, and they didn’t want to face it alone. To this day, they are so thankful they did.
Those sessions were incredibly valuable to each of them in the weeks, months, and years that followed. There was something so beneficial about being able to process the grief, thoughts, fears, and questions swirling inside them with a professional who truly listened. It was extremely difficult feeling like the whole world was moving on while they were left to figure out how to do that without their baby. Counseling taught them that each person grieves differently, and that one way is not better than the other. It gave them a safe space to process and grieve, together and individually.
When Devan & Lexie started Carried By Love in 2022, they knew they wanted to offer grief counseling to bereaved parents just like it had once been offered to them. They are so grateful to Anchored Virtual for partnering with them to make this possible as they care for these families.
